Abstract	:	This thesis studied the covering radius for DNA codes by studying the covering radius for codes over the ring Z_4+ωZ_4 with the Gau isometry. We found a general covering radius bound of the codes over the ring Z_4+ωZ_4 via the investigation of the normal codes over the same ring. The direct sum of normal codes over Z_4+ωZ_4 is shown to be also normal.
